Revisiting the Freddie Mercury Birthday Party in Montreux

With the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody collecting accolades, we cannot help but reminisce about attending the official Freddie Mercury birthday party in Montreux, Switzerland in 2015.

Jen interviewed Peter “Phoebe” Freestone who was Freddie Mercury’s longtime personal assistant and friend. She also went on the boat trip led by Phoebe which sails by Freddie’s apartment and the famous “duck” house where Freddie wrote the song “A Winter’s Tale.” Footage of the interview and boat tour can be seen in the YouTube videos.

The birthday party was a fabulous way to celebrate Freddie’s life with fans from all over the world and to experience a beautiful city that gave Freddie such peace of mind during the last years of his life.
