Deep Purple and Joyous Wolf Rock The Orpheum Theatre in Boston: Review & Photos

Joyous Wolf took the stage October 5 at The Orpheum Theatre in Boston to a nearly full venue as the opener for Deep Purple’s The Long Goodbye Tour. It didn’t take long for the band to win over the crowd of predominately men of the baby-boom generation. With singer Nick Reese performing flips on stage and running through the audience during songs, he had the crowd rocking out as if they were reliving a concert from their youth. The band performed songs from their 2019 album Place in Time including “Quiet Heart” and “Mother Rebel” as well as the Mountain classic “Mississippi Queen.”

Deep Purple took the stage around 8:30 p.m. to an energized crowd and opened with “Highway Star.” The band sounded spectacular and were feeding off the audience. The show was a memorable night that proved that you are never too old to rock and roll!
