Mammothor Delivers Epic Heavy Metal on 'The Ecstasy of Silence...The Agony of Dreams'

Boston hard rock band Mammothor deliver The Ecstasy of Silence...The Agony of Dreams, an album that unquestionably will appeal to a broad range of rock fans.

Frontman Travis Lowell showcases his versatile vocals on the 12 tracks which fuses elements of 80s heavy metal and grunge from the 90s.

The first track “M.O.A.B” is an excellent display of the band’s eclectic sound. Guitarist Josh Johnson’s speedy riffs combined with the heavy drums by Jake Wertman will get the listener headbanging.

There is no lack of epic guitar riffs on the album. Track four “Hitcher,” will without a doubt create a moshpit at shows. The track dives right into heavy guitars and Lowell switches between metal and grunge-esque vocals. Following up is lead single “Take the World” which kicks off with a mesmerizing guitar riff.

“Parasomnia,” the sixth track, is a standout. Structurally diverse but containing a trippy and ethereal sound, the song has a distinct feel from the rest of the album.

Closing out the album is “Do You Call My Name” a cover of RA’s 2003 single from their album From One.
