Blacktop Mojo Keep Up Momentum on Self-Titled Album

Palestine, TX rock band Blacktop Mojo released their self-titled album on Friday, August 13th. Their fourth studio album overall, Blacktop Mojo clearly has not lost their momentum on this 12 track masterpiece.

“Wicked Woman” kicks off the album and immediately shoots you with an adrenaline rush. Listeners will be enraptured by vocalist Matt James’ powerful vocals over the heavy guitar and bass riffs. A blend of hard rock and grunge, this track is rock perfection.

Next up is the bass heavy tune “Bed Tundy.” With luring vocals matching the vibe of Ted Bundy, this tune will leave listeners head banging and singing along to the hook. A guitar solo halfway through is the cherry on top.

The third track “Latex” is a soaring southern mid tempo rock track allowing the listener to coast a bit. Picking up in heaviness at the chorus, the song then leads into a guitar solo.

“Rewind” and “Jealously” are melodic, mid tempo rock tunes. The band success in fusing guitar riffs and killer drumming with catchy choruses.

The seventh track “Darlin’ I Won’t Tell” starts off with acoustic guitar with Matt James’ smooth vocals, before transitioning into a heavier rock track. James vocal range shines on this stand out track.

“Tail Lights” close out the album on a high note. Captivating bluesy guitars and drums reach into your soul. James’ heartfelt vocals along with the passionate guitar solo top off this track.

Blacktop Mojo is exactly what the rock scene needs at this moment: Stellar, authentic musicianship and a frontman who possesses one of a kind vocals that allows the listener to connect with both the lyrics and vocals.
